A very weird US import on an obscure record label (presumably they licensed the tracks from EMI)? Ten tracks - seven from the first album, Shades of Deep Purple, no tracks from the second album, The Book Of Taliesyn and three tracks from the final Deep Purple Mark 1 album, Deep Purple. Very random indeed! I bought it, for not a lot of money, from a second hand record shop (which is no longer there), which was opposite Sheffield City Hall. I wish I could tell you why I bought it, but I can't - I had all three of the DP Mark 1 albums! It came without an inner sleeve and I don't think I have ever played it. The music is, of course, fine. The psychedelic heavy pop calm before the storm that was Deep Purple Mark 2. File under "Why?" -
Edited 4 years agoFun track selection but wow is this a quiet pressing! Feels pretty compressed overall, butworth it for a few bucks at a thrift store :- )
