Edited 15 years agoThe most redeeming aspect of this dvd is that it gives the viewer a real glimpse into the personalities of both John Digweed and Sasha. You'll see that John Digweed was then as he is now, calm, collected, reserved, and focused. It is no wonder many people consider John to be an unstoppable beat matching machine. He is, in my personal opinion, only matched by Danny Howells in the ability go for hours on end without mucking up a single blend. From the dvd you can see that Sasha was a bit more arrogant at the time of the Delta Heavy tour but certainly not to the point of being a prick. He's the wild card of the duo and a couple times "goes missing" while the Delta crew searches for him. As viewers we can only imagine what he's doing but I'm sure whatever it is, its a heck of a lot more fun than what Digweed was doing.
The one disappointment in this dvd is that the sound track you see listed above is dubbed overtop the live video images from the tour. This is probably due to licensing reasons. I believe the creators were not allowed from a rights perspective to show John and Sasha playing someone else's music and take profit from it. The viewer is not going to get the live feel that one would expect from a concert dvd like this. There's no reverb, no crowd noise. The tracks sound rather small and confined because well, they are being played in your living room. There's some visual overlay meant to trip out the viewer but at this point in time the effects seem pretty weak and dated. Overall I give this dvd 3 out of 5 stars. Could have been a 4 star dvd if the sounds were taken from a live show but still was a great way to get to know a little about our all-time favorite progressive djs :)
