I will always prefer albums over compilations, but damn is it tasty to hear all of these songs together! ...Plus Got To Get You Into My Life and September? ...This is a good record.

        Album Revolution #7:

There was no way that I wasn't going to include "The Best Of Earth Wind & Fire Vol. I" into the Album Revolution...

        Why?...Why not?!?!?!?!!!

Honestly, this (I believe, I could be wrong) is arguably their best selling album EVER!!!!

        Again, why?

Well, it has the biggest HITS from their most Classic albums in "That's The Way Of The World", "Gratitude", "Spirit" and "All 'N' All"...I would have also included songs from "Head To The Sky" and "Open Our Eyes" as well, but I get it, it was a different time in how they did Compilations....Those albums SOLIDIFIED their Legacy in Music (even though they would continue to add to it)....

So hearing songs like, "Shining Star", "Fantasy" and "Getaway" in one place is VERY gratifying....

What takes this over the top are the new songs...

The Crown Jewel in the cover of "The Beatles", "Got To Get You Into My Life", in some Peoples eyes is almost better than the original (I feel like it was kind of EQUAL).....This was also included in the movie, "The Bee Gees" version of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", which was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!.....

"Love Music", is not an essential t, but it is still very enjoyable...

Then there's the Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Crown Jewel, "September"!!!!!!! This one right here is the JAM of all JAMS!!!! "That's The Way Of The World" used to be their anthem (and in some People's eyes, it's STILL is).....But in the last 20 years, "September" has straight up TAKEN OVER!!!!!!!

It is THOSE reasons that this particular album is ALWAYS seems to be the first one picked from their Catalog, and no matter what album is your particular favorite (mines being "That's the Way Of The World"), NOTHING will change that fact!!!!!!

PS: 7/5/2024.....In 1999, a CD Re-Issue was released....It had a Danceable "Megamix 2000" (and Megamix (Radio Edit).....It has somewhat of a "Club Music Backbeat"....I have to it that I'm not really a fan of it, but I'm not really a "Club Music" person....If you like that kind of Music though, then it WILL have You GROOVIN'......

PSS: 7/5/2024....Since my Oldest Daughter got TIRED of BUGGING me to use my Vinyl, she went out and got HER OWN copy....She bought the 2017 "Sony/Legacy", "We Are Vinyl" Version....I have to be HONEST here, I AM JEALOUS!!!!! The sound is SO CLEAN!!!!, and FOR ONCE, she FEELS like she has an ADVANTAGE OVER ME (LOL!!!!) !!!!!!!!

A wise choice if you are just getting into Earth wind & Fire and would like a compilation of their best work. This is also the only place you might find "September", besides on single. Highlights are "Shining Star", and the greatest Beatles cover ever, "Got To Get You Into My Life". Super funky and tight performance.

The music is stunning, beautifully recorded, mixed and mastered. With so many instruments and layers of texture, that is a solid feat. Pressing sounds excellent. Recommended.
