I have been listening to this albums for year, once I could I got a copy on vinyl...the hype disappeared once I dropped the needle. Noisy, wrapped, it even has resistance towards the velvet brush. Sounds good, but I had to pause the listening 5 times to clean the stylus and the record itself with a cloth. I love Tops, but this pressing is quite terrible.

Like the other reviewer said, there’s some issues with the record itself, the most noticeable flaw on mine is that it is warped. Thankfully it does not affect playback. There is surface noise scattered between the tracks but nothing to distract from the music which sounds fantastic on this pressing. The electric guitars and the bass lines come through so rich, the grooviness of the music is brought to life on this record. Made me a TOPS fan all over again. This album is definitely a classic with tracks like Outside, Ways to be loved, Change of heart and driverless enger being some of my favs.

Edited 4 years agoI'll be honest; despite this being pressed at United, this record sounds incredible. The whole production is so rich and dynamic, it really transferred well to this format.
That said, the usual suspect issues from United exist, primarily surface noise, slight warp, and some pops. But I find the noise floor is quite low and the music drowns out much of the noise. A flawed pressing, for sure, but the quality of the music outweighs the cons, in my opinion. -
