Its hilding up to the test of time! I love how the art of recording isnt about perfection! Its attitude and it has plenty of it!
-
Bought mine directly from TMR in Nashville in 2015. Plays perfectly, no skips/pops/cracks. Favorite album of mine.
-
Even after a good clean and de-static brush it still pops and clicks. Quite heavily on side B. Shame.

Edited one year agoJust bought this record new today. Turns out these plates are in use again. My jacket has a copyright of 2021 and yet it’s most definitely NOT the “Ericka” or “Detroit” pressings released that year. Kinda bummed because I’ve always hated United and NRP because they’re hella noisy.
Once I brought it home i thoroughly cleaned it using my VPI 16.5 vacuum machine and listened after. I was expecting snap, crackle & to show up but it was surprisingly quiet between ages. -
All analogue pressing as confirmed on the SH forums. It's a solid pressing but does have some intermittent surface noise throughout courtesy of United.

Mine came with a lyric bi fold.
Album sounds great. One of my personal favorites. Turn it up loud. :-) -
I'm with johnny. Music sounds great, but lots of minor pops and ticks, pretty annoying. Kind of weird, as the record seems nice and glossy and came in a nice poly sleeve.

This was pressed at united :(
It's filled with pops and ticks throughout. The first side is not too bad but side 2 has annoying surface noise that just ruins the listening experience. -
Jack White is one of those guys who had the bad luck of having been born a few decades too late (which, music-wise, I can totally empathize with). That's why his music lends itself so well to analog mediums, like this record shows.
If you're a fan of The White Stripes and their stripped down, analog, retro, garage sound you'll love this album much more on vinyl than on CD. For me, even though Elephant was way more successful, this is their best album.
I recommend it!
