Notes
The first Offspring LP release. This album was later re-issued in 1995 on Nitro Records with different cover art.
The first pressing consisted of 3,000 copies on black vinyl, and features the original "Guitar Alien" front cover artwork by Marc Rude. The first pressing can be distinguished by only having one record company logo (Nemesis) on the jacket. Also, a double-sided lyric sheet is included with the album.
Subsequent pressings on Nemesis records had a Cargo Records logo on the sleeve in addition to the Nemesis logo. Only a handful of these included lyric sheets but these were only given to band and close friends of the band.
Recorded at South Coast Recording.
Lacquer cutting credits are identified in runout etchings.

I wish I hadn't looked now! lol, I can selling this, it was the 1st record I ever sold on Discogs, I got a pretty good price for the time though £70.00 I think, I needed the money though and I've had bigger regrets since!!!
It's interesting to see what becomes expensive and from what I can see there's a lot of vinyl going up in price now that was otherwise inexpensive, it's just a case of parting with it, and I haven't quite got the hang of that yet!!! : ) -
Does anybody have an extra sleeve of this release they'd wanna sell? I have the LP and insert, but no sleeve.

When they finally put this out on CD why the hell did they change the cover art? The original artwork is cool as hell. The CD artwork sucks AZZ!!!

Hey what happened to the Nemesis silver pressed cd version of this that was listed on discogs (and sold here) for awhile. Now the listing is gone and no more? They look identical to the original Nemesis cover LP and sound less mixed. But they were factory pressed silver cd's. What happened to them?

something the owner of Nemesis record just told me on instagram:

I will tell you a story about cargo. When I started out it was just nemesis then my Friend Kane who was my distributor got us a distribution deal with cargo and that was prettying the beginning of the end. First they insisted on this big cargo logo on all releases and then when I had finally had enough and folded my label. They tried to go after all the bands on my label and re release everything on cargo with no nemesis credit. So really in my opinion any release that says cargo but not nemesis is a bootleg and was an attempt to usurp the label I worked very hard on and they can burn in eternity for all I care. -
Many people have called this the forgotten Offspring album. Now, you'll see why: it had never officially been released on CD anywhere until 1995 after they rose to popularity. When Ignition and Smash came out in 1992 and 1994 respectively, many didn't even realize that The Offspring had an album back in the late 80s. When their self-titled album was originally released on June 15, 1989 (exactly three months after I was born), only 5,000 copies were pressed and I heard that at least one copy got destroyed. The truth is that it took The Offspring about two and half years for them to sell all copies of the vinyl before they went out of print. If you ask fans about this album some wouldn't realize that The Offspring had an album before Ignition. In fact the use of lyrics for a pop-punk band like violence and war-related topics make this album sound quite unique for The Offspring.
