I've become a fan of the Son Dexter mix and have taken another listen to the After Dark and Jazz Cafe mixes (thanks skipervarg!)... very sublime stuff. Of the house artists that supply the vocals for their own productions, he provides the best accents to these bittersweet pieces. I was going to flip this set out of my collection, but now I think it's going to stay some more.. Another one that has stayed with me through the years (albeit with someone else doing the vocals) is "Premonition of Lost Love."

Edited 12 years agoOver many years and crates of records, I have learned to appreciate those subtle moments in rhythm, emotion and melody. This record is a prime example that the best of music reveals its wonder and magic over time. While Theo's Missing Dub was the reason I originally purchased the record "back in the day", it's the After Dark Mix by Larry that plucks the heart strings. The sparse drum machine and melody provide a simple but perfectly matched backdrop for vocals that tell a tale of loss and woe.

The Theo Parrish remix is one of the angriest tracks ever made, realy distorted dark sounds of absolute lunacy ! but still beautiful some how ? this mix makes you feel almost anxious and scared to see what's going to happen next. Dark and Demented but I Love it
