The cover art on my copy is… not blurry but not exactly razor sharp. Are all copies like that?

This version does not exist. After collecting The White Stripes since 2002, I have not come across one edition of this specific record where the catalogue numbers match. The only version has no. 609 on the spine and no. 572 on the label. I challenge anybody and everybody to prove me wrong and of course to sell me their copy with matching numbers :).

While I could be wrong and, furthermore, it's a hard call if it makes any difference to anybody anyway, I'm not so certain the misprinted labels are necessarily indicative of a separate or distinct pressing. I don't know the story of how/when the incorrect labels were printed, but I do know that it's not all too uncommon for a printing plant to mistakenly use rejected parts at any stage of a press run. (Or for a label to use previously rejected parts in a pinch when it's discovered that they need to raise their initial press run to meet pre-orders for a new album by an up-and-coming artist.) Take note: the misprinted labels were used at two separate pressing plants, this and the Rainbo press! And then there's also the fact that I worked in independent record distribution in the Bay Area and received my copy straight from the warehouse at the time of initial release. (At least that's what I 19 years later...) And which pressing do I have? This, the SFTRI 572/609 label misprint. Also, mine came with the original insert - which, up until now, everybody has stated did not come with this press. Independent label manufacturing is a confusing mish-mash, so don't go paying (or charging!) a lot of money for random nonsense and misplaced "facts."

My copy, owned from new, has 609 on the spine and both matrix numbers but 572 on the label and never had any inserts. misterc6

ALSO! Does anyone know if an insert was included in this 572/609 release? I know that the 609/609 releases have it but my 572/609 didn't. Now, mine was a used gift from someone and they just might have lost it. But evertime I see these 572/609 releases for sal online, I don't see an insert. HALP!

so, was that an error? the 609 on spine/runouts and the 572 on the label? if so, I assume this was released and pressed before the 609 proper. how many mislabeled ones?
