My copy just came with a clear poly inner sleeve, is it the same for everyone? Mine was bought brand new and sealed.

Pretty bad sibilance on the last track, but I also hear it equally on the digital version I have, so probably not an issue with the record. Otherwise sounds great, very low on surface noise.
-
My copy has the idential run-out as this listing, but only weighs 136g. Every non-colored release here on Discogs is listed as 180g.

This is a great record. A modern classic... Wait, this came out 14 years ago? What the fuck? It hasn't been that long! Damn you time and your cruel linearity!!

There's no unique information in this version. How does this release differ from the original? https://discogs.sitiosdesbloqueados.info/The-Shins-Chutes-Too-Narrow/release/484026

Edited 9 years agoFlat record with a load of mold release. There is a "footsteps" surface noise hard to describe but the pressing is highly dynamic. I hear sibilance mostly on side B but I'm not sure if I damaged my copy by listening to it 13 years ago on a turntable not properly aligned or with a bad stylus. Maybe the issue comes from my Rega carbon conical stylus? My matrix numbers are SP-625-1 A and SP-625-1 B only. First pressing maybe? Recommended awesome pressing.

Does anyone else's pressing sound way too fast? I thought I had it set to 45 rpm or something but no, on 33 it still sounds too fast.

Edited 14 years agoGatefold cover. Pressed on either black vinyl, white vinyl or red vinyl. Some came with a large 4-C poster, printed on newsprint.
