Edited 3 months agoGood quality original JA Press, hard to find in good condition, so the 2009 Reissue is welcome !
AA Side with :
A Side "Curfew" aka "Burnin And Lootin"
B Side "Chant" aka "Rastaman Chant"
...The original Release is the same as 2009 Repress ! (just different title name) -
Edited 5 years agoMy old copy (not the 2009 release) with exactly the same matrices actually plays Burnin And Lootin/Rastaman Chant. And not Road Block/Rastaman Chant.
B Side label spells Bod Marley instead of Bob Marley. -
Yes, while IrieItes is correct to identify the songs as 'Road Block' and 'Rastaman Chant' respectively, it should be noted that these are different takes and were re-recorded for both subsequent album versions.
This 45 is the only know instance of these two original versions.
You could thus argue that the names that appear here are correct and not on the albums?
:P Maybe :P -
Edited 6 years agoAccording to the website 45cat, this single was issued in 1973. That Tuff Gong logo was used up until Bob Marley moved to 56 Hope Road in early 1975. The song 'Curfew' is in fact 'Road Block', included on the Natty Dread album (October 1974) and the song 'Chant-I' is the song 'Rastaman Chant' issued on the Burning album (October 1973).
