Edited 4 years agoThis is one of the best Smiths records I’ve ever heard. Super punchy drums and heavy, hi def bass driving the songs. Clarity is next to none. Wide soundstage, amazing atmosphere. This record seems to me like it was recorded better than their later efforts where it seems as though the sound wasn’t as separated or defined the way it is on this first album. It’s a really, clean, pure sound that just opens up and really pulls you in. The vocals also seem warmer and clearer than on some pressings of other albums I have. This record is a real treat to listen to. This Japanese press is a nice collectible too, complete with extra interview flexi.
