It seems obvious that this is a repress of the original. I don't think the band would have burned a large number of copies for their first album. The question is: should a new discog entry be created? In my opinion yes, because it could mislead future buyers. This record (mint and sealed) cost me less than CAD50$ in stores, while the original would have cost (with a NM condition cost over $100).

Edited one year agoFound this version recently and held off getting it cause I figured it was a boot. Vinyl and sleeve too pristine for a 43 year old LP. It has all the correct identifiers, including the Jem distro info. However, hand etched "Editions EG - Malicious Damage" appears on the matrix. Any ideas on the verity of this awesome album?

This is a solid pressing. The bass, drums and synth truly shine in the punchy mix. I adore the font and design layout on the track listing on back of the jacket.

All that I know, is that my copy sounds incredible! It’s hard to imagine that the recent reissue would sound as good. Plus this has Change on it. Awesome tune!

Edited 19 years agoThe US version of Killing Joke's debut LP is notable for two variations from the UK release. Firstly, the US release adds 'Change' which was originally the b-side to the 'Requiem' single. Secondly, the UK release has a gatefold sleeve rather than the standard sleeve found on the US release.
