Have we not by now realised that plenty of people have this so called first pressing and have the free 7”

I’ve never understood this overated band,it just has not clicked in my one track mind. The only really good thing about this band is the covers of their records(photographed bythe magnificent Brian Griffin).

A momentously amazing pressing, the only song truly lacking was Villiers Terrace and Monkeys. Villiers Terrace is probably one of the their most masterful tracks, so maybe i should try on another system, but the mix is not as good for those songs in particular.

Everything else is stupendously good, i probably should try on an even higher end system. Could also easily be EQ'd

So I just discovered EatB and am blown away. I am 39 and love modern post-punk music and have gotten into the early stuff recently. These guys might be my favorite of that time. What a time for music! Got this pressing recently and it sounds amazing, everything sounds incredible, could not be happier.

Nice pressing. Bass and drums have a lot of punch and everything sounds very organic on the record. Great mastering, very loud. This could be a nice example of how analog sounds better than the digital version // PT-BR: Boa prensagem. Baixo e bateria tem bastante punch e tudo soa muito orgânico. Ótima masterização, bem alta. Esse poderia ser um bom exemplo de como analógico soa melhor que a versão digital

Of all the versions of this album I have heard across multiple formats, I would say this one is the best. Arun Chakraverty cut the album hot, without pulling any punches, somewhat similar to what George "Porky" Peckham would do at the time. A word of warning though: if your cartridge is a mediocre tracker/tracer, you'll notice some IGD at the end of each side. Also watch out for copies with groove wear and "burned in" IGD from the previous owner.

Can anyone explain why people are paying more for a copy of this album without the free 7” than the identical one with a 7” .
As already explained you could send off for the single if you bought it without one and the records are identical!!

Purchasers of this first edition were able to write in to get the "Do It Clean" 7" single which appeared with later version of the album.
