Sting was once a member of the successful punk/wave/ska/rock band The Police. Since 1985, however, he is already working on a solo career that is no less has been successful. For his latest cd was supposed to be a number of well-known Police-and solo songs live in a new jacket. On All This Time are new versions of well-known songs as Fragile, Every Breath You Take and Fields Of Gold. Between the musicians we find famous names from the jazz world as Chris Botti (trumpet), Dominic Miller (guitar), Marcos Suzano (percussion), Manu Katché (drums), Christian McBride (bass) and Jason Rebello (keyboards). Together with producer Kipper they provide a relaxed, jazzy sound. That's going a while good, but after a few songs is pretty boring. You are going more and more desire for such a typical high hees-Sting-shout (Róóóóóxanne!). Eventually, we have to recognise that only four of the sixteen numbers really ' rocking ' and who also all come at the end of the album. Especially If I Ever Lose My Faith In You "and" Every Breath You Take sound good, but in fact the album than long bled to death. Sting is currently both in pop as in jazz circles a big name, but judging from All This Time he begins a somewhat boring, old man.
