great record! a favorite for 20 years. listening to my morning coffee classicals today i realized that "and a 1, 2, 3, 4" samples/is based on john cage's string quartet. i think it's even the same recording: https://discogs.sitiosdesbloqueados.info/master/271825-John-Cage-Witold-Lutos%C5%82awski-LaSalle-Quartett-Streichquartette-String-Quartets

i agree. there's something rather special about this record, o'rourke's stuff with fennesz is great too-really worth getting hold of. there's a really nice ambient feel to most of the stuff on mego even when the sounds are abrasive.

I dig this one alot. It has sensibility, sentiment and elevation. The tracks move naturally and paints a lovely portrait of the backdrop, and all of a sudden you are amidst it! swooop.
