It's interesting to read reviews of the vinyl copy of this album sounding compressed as I recently played this original CD and was shocked at how compressed it is too.
I could barely make it through a few tracks before my ears literally began to hurt (using headphones).
It makes me wonder that they took the CD master and used it for the vinyl copies. Sadly there are reviews of all the various vinyl pressings (from original 2004 to modern) that state issues of concern. -
When this album came out it was everywhere, the songs where on the radio all the time, and to be honest I was sick of it. Deep down though I quite liked it, but as everyone had it, I didn't bother with it, the years have gone by now and I picked up a copy, and it has blown away. Every track rocks, lyrically it's pure poetry, and it's all over far to quick. I see now why it was played so much, as the songs are catchy and they all sound great blazing out of car windows. If you don't own this album I urge you to get a copy as you won't be disappointed.
