Absolutely one of my favourite albums, a masterpiece in dance- house musique. Love it from the first to the last second.

Great groovy house record. I love it more and more as time goes by. Maybe not as relentless and pristine as Daft Punk's 'Homework', but also less monotonous and definitely as sexy.

While I must say Cassius' 1999 album is a good foray into the French House genre that was booming at the time, I must say that this album is pretty overrated. It's not terrible, but it's definitely not the pillar of French House that everyone makes it to be. Sure, there are some classic cuts here, such as Cassius 1999, Cassius 99 (Remix), Foxxy, Feeling For You, and Nulife, there are other tracks on here that are simply so boring they'll put you to sleep.

I feel that this album suffers from an overabundance of tracks. 16 is way too much, and a lot of the album suffers because of it. The whole album has a bit of a laid-back feel, and the singles don't really reflect the rest of the album. The album seems to do a bit too much at once, it tries to market as danceable music and still be chilled like Etienne de Crecy's work. Tracks like Crazy Legs, Chase, Planetz, Mister Eveready, Somebody, Interlude, and Invisible are really unnecessary, and are so relaxed that they're to the point of un-listenable. They put the album at a really slow pace, and 1999 hurts from it.

In my opinion, if 1999 didn't have all this filler, and was condensed to a more realistic 10-11 tracks, it'd be much better overall. But as a whole, Cassius' singles overrate this album greatly.
