Needs a vinyl release. Seeing as The Truth got a standalone release, I'm hoping this'll get a Emancipation-like box set of just the first 3 CDs. -

Edited 2 years agoAn overwhelming amount of music here, as it is 4-cd's.
The material I enjoy the best is easy to spot, as it was recorded in the golden 1982-1987 era, some tracks sounding like they were meant for "Sign O' The Times", and some obviously from around 1982, as in "Cloreeen bacon skin" (with Morris Day on drums).
Great to have the title track from the originally conceived triple album, "Crystal Ball". It would have been great in that "Sign O' The Times" context as originally intended.
The later recordings vary from mediocre to average, and don't excite me. I was not crazy about what made it ONTO "Emancipation", and there are some leftovers here from those sessions.
Since some of the "Sign..." era tracks here were left off of the recent Super Deluxe Boxed set that the Estate recently put out, I predict that this "Crystal Ball" comp is slated for a re-issue both on cd and vinyl.
