Edited 11 years agoFrom the whole catalogue from Galakthorrö November Novelet will always be the pretty one. The one who distinctively separate from the brute force and harsh violence that Hauf Arafna displays. Kind of the most aproachable alter ego.
But let's not think that is sweet and candy like. Although definitively not rusty and as acidic as his counterpart, it still does preserve it's own virulence and violent persistence. This album is not noise, but endures in the brutality of its mudded pulses and appeals to the sharp seduction of the analog tones that are the core of it´s construction. It is almost sensual at times, but with an edge that doesn´t let it be. The subdued agression and distilled hate that emanates from the quasi warm and round tonalities become a perfect contrast demarked by the bleak pulses that subtly transmit the strength from power electronics that lies dormant in here. The female vocals are the essence of misanthropy in an almost cabaret-esque display, the cadence and simple constitution of the voice grants a hint of humanity among the magma of genocidal electronics.
Could its be that if perceived with a critic eye, this music represents the heralds from the previous epoch? The pupils from Black Metal. After all, if you dig enough, the structure is very similar, only now its enterely electronic, even the thematic is remarkably linkable if contextualized. The central focus of this album wanders in between utter despíse for humanity, sado-masochism and a bleak vision of the nature of the world. Now compare the tones, exchange them for a guitar, transmute the pulses into blast beats? what will you find? Black metal, the heirs from an epoch.
