Great pressing. On my system this sounds better than MOV. More punch detail. Michell gyro audio physics Hegel Lyra Delos rel subs.

Edited 8 months agoThe pressing is good, clean vinyl and both are flat. I compared the sonics to the CD. There’s slightly more bass weight, the CD sounds slightly thinner. But that’s about all the differences I could perceive (and I had to really listen for them). My system is slightly warm so maybe someone with a more transparent system can hear more difference.
Overall sounds good, it’s definitely compressed (like the CD), but it’s not a huge improvement on digital. I hope an all analog cut by a good mastering engineer can be done at some point in the future. -
picked up this version. I also wanted the Dirt album on vinyl. Actually didn’t expect much of it. Most reissues don’t sound good (because most of the time the master source is digital)….but very much to my surprise this reissue sounds really amazing! Crisp, clean and well balanced ! A real joy to listen too. Just one minor small thing. The surface noise could by a tad lower.

The limited edition that is infinitely available two years later! Not that it really matters but maybe limited edition is somewhat misleading here. I do agree that its a very good pressing the MOV is better but only slightly (only my humble opinion)

Such a great sounding record. What an utter masterpiece of the time too. Most 90s grunge stuff sounds awful but this was obviously produced well.

Little to no surface noise, punchy bass and good mids/highs! Nice pressing and really like the colour on this one

Edited 5 months agoThis is a definite improvement over the MOV single LP. Beautiful sound overall. The bass really jumped out to me in "Rain When I Die." I did notice crackling on Side C and distortion at the end of "Would?" Unfortunate, but I don’t expect perfection and rarely get it where vinyl is concerned. It's interesting to see how divisive this pressing has been. While I think Dirt is their best batch of songs, I've never loved how it sounds. It's a very 90s-sounding record, whereas JoF, MTV Unplugged, and s/t are much better produced and have more of that timeless quality, imo. That’s probably why no-one argues about the quality of those pressings. At this point, I don't think it's possible for it sound any better on wax than it does here. If you're a fan, I say go for it.

It's starting to get on my nerves that the center hole on all new pressings is much too small and you have to constantly re-drill
