Edited 2 years agoside A is warped completely, and i even got a replacement from the manufacturer with the same exact issue! i've just given up tbh, but i still find this album absolutely stunning. maybe even though it's late, i could try getting a pink version..
-
My yellow vinyl came warped and I bought directly from the manufacturer.
I have spoken to the manufacturer and they said they have had loads of issues with this yellow vinyl. Steer clear! -
What a great Album from EE. Wasn't sure if they had peaked after the release of 'Re-Animator' which in my view was a bit weak, but 'Raw Data Feel' doesn't has a poor track on it for me,
As for this Yellow release, it seems virtually all pressed have the issue so its a collector piece only really due to the issue,
Get the clear or the pink if you actually want to play your vinyl.
That said, I widened the hole on mine and can get it to play OK. I know its 55 minutes long but mine sounds great, good dynamics and no inner groove distortion, but I do run a Ortofon 2m black on my turntable so that certainly helps with albums like this vs more basic stuff. -
Just received a replacement, and yeah, same exact problem. Don't bother with this pressing; the pink version sounds great.
-
Side A was off-centre. Got a replacement, no worries. Replacement Side A was off-centre. Sod this! Getting the pink version...
-
my copy has fallen to the off-center side A. rip. got a refund and have ordered the pink variant, heard that one is a lot more consistent
-
Yeah mine was subtle at first (just sounded like a lot of modulation on the synth/guitars, but the further into side A I got the more it felt like everything was melting
-
Mine came today and I seem to have caught a good one! It's not off centre, no needle drift, no pops, crackles or anything else. No warping, disc is flat... So surprised! I've seen nothing but complaints about this press, and I'm actually after ordering the Indies pink version before they're gone because of all the shocking reviews on the yellow! Ah well...
Eh, but yeah, the yellow isn't all bad! I would've preferred a 2LP for sure, sandwiching 55 mins onto one disc can't help but impact the sonics a bit but I get why they did it from a cost perspective and actually, the dynamics aren't bad at all, considering.
I'm happy anyway, and anyone going through a return or exchange process, there are decent yellow presses around. -
Their last album was pressed poorly too. Honestly they need to sort their act out, since they went independent from a major label it's been impossible to enjoy them on vinyl.

Edited 3 years agoJust wanting to urge anyone who purchased the yellow vinyl to please unseal it & check side A is properly centered as it seems there is a pressing problem with this edition. If your copy is faulty you can arrange a free return (exchange/refund) via the TM Stores web store. Side A is pressed approx 3mm off-center and is unplayable as a result. I also have the clear vinyl which is fine.
