I being astonished by the sound quality of this record when I first played it, having rushed back home from my Saturday shift at WH Smith (no relation!) It was the same impression I had when playing DSOTM in ‘73, a record that was an audiophile’s wet dream. All these years later, it still blows me away.

Not a lot (actually none) of mentions of this poster present in the pics...
Anyone has some information about this goodie?

Man, no matter how many 180G, 200G, heavyweight records are made nowadays, nothing will sound as good as these 80's originals.
It is a lightweight vinyl, but gives out such clear and detailed sound.
Really one of The Cure's best, happy to have this pressing :)

Just got a copy of the FIXD 7 version...incredible. It is night and day compared to the 2016 repress that I have. I try to get originals because of their unique and original sound quality, and this does not disappoint.

I have both this and the German reissue print from 1982 (0060.497). This one sounds a little more open/warm than the German one, but both sound really great.

Finally got my hands on this original LP from the UK. I have the US, A&M pressing. This sounds so amazing here. Freaking brilliant doom and gloom. I will say this FIXD 7 pressing sounds the best I have ever heard. I first had this on cassette back in 1991, then the cd not long after, bought the A&M LP in 1999, deluxe cd, Red vinyl reissue, now THIS! My road to the blackness has ended beautifully. I'm inside the studio. "Cold" is one of my favorite Cure songs.

Beautiful press and as stated many times....powerful. I first heard this as I got it as a loan from a friend in school approx 1985 .. As with all my music this reminds me of a very special time in my life...when it was fashionable to look miserable...anybody got a time machine?

The 2022 picture disc sounds good for a picture disc. There is some surface noise in spots and the typical background shhhhhhhhh of a picture disc is there but mild. It is not as good as an original pressing or an original CD. The mastering is on the warm side with a slight bass boost and slightly rolled off on top. This one looks very cool on the turntable. Nice to have in the collection.

Magnificent album. I like Faith more but that's a preference thing. I love how dark and brutal Pornography is. A Strange Day and One Hundred Years are my favourite. Sounds great as well. Powerful pressing
