Ok, so a couple of buddies and I have been giving this a repeated listen on high fidelity / volume for a few weeks now in a proper drunk / smoked environment. This album is wild. It's like what aliens make when they are trying to replicate club music. The Poor Boy And The Mud Ponies is like being super tripped out crawling outside of a venue after a storm. Even the ambient tracks are unsettling.
Yes, this music is repetitive. Yes, it can seem 'simple'. But trust me, it is not. Pendant shows why he is a label boss as well as one of the top contenders. The Tortoise versus the Hare... -

An absolutely baffling, brain-scrambling and dark-dream-enhancing album. Truly no other listening experience quite like this all year.
Vinyl pressing sounds rich, full of detail, and dead quiet. Highly recommended.
