Anyone notice any wow and flutter on the Piano? I can hear it wobble a bit at times. Haven't noticed this with any of my other records, and this doesn't seem to be pressed off-center or anything. The wobble also seems less pronounced on digital versions, but I can still hear some. Not sure if I should try another copy.

Edited 2 years ago"Little Lulu" was my first experience hearing Bill Evans, having bought a Polygram jazz sampler in '85. Such a swingin' trio.
Was happy to pick up a clean copy of this reissue. The low frequencies sounds wonderful and overall so much great dynamics. Bass articulation(pluck) and ride cymbal ping pop right out into the room.
The pressing is mostly acceptable but at times exhibits pre-groove ghosting and other rumbly sounds between songs. A3 has inner groove distortion starting at the bass solo. Darn.
Hey, I'm just happy to be listening to BE. Everything else is a bonus. 4.5 stars. -

Edited 2 years agoBeautiful Piano Trio album recorded shortly before Xmas 63. Hard to choose between ‚64 and ‚65. Best is to get them both. A fine remastering work by RKS and good pressing. One would only wish that the recording engineers at that time would have understood that they are not just recording a pianist as part of a group but one of the greatest jazz pianists of all times. BE would have deserved a more focused and far better recording work.

The stereo image, the dynamic and the general presentation of this pressing is amazingly good. This is the record, if you want to show someone how a jazz Record can sound on a capable sound system. Noticed some dropped jaws already :)

The best release of this album ive heard so far basically amongst all the recent times reissues and everything is A☆ from pressing, mastering to presentation. Bring on Trio 65 already, a release waaaaay overdue and make sure it matches the qualities of this one!

Have the DeAgostini version from 2016 which is fine, but this is so much more dynamic sounding and the timbre of the bass is that much richer sounding, my copy is flat and noise free. .
