Anyone compare this to the 2007 180g 33rpm pressing? I have the original first pressing, at 33rpm it takes up a huge part of the record, surprised to learn there is a 45rpm pressing - how does it all fit?!
Nonetheless, the 2007 pressing has pop and crackle right from the factory, and though the album is a quiet record in general the 2007 pressing has a relatively good sound stage that can be heard quite well. -

Didn't realise this was a 45 at first! Doesn't actually tell you on the sleeve, sticker or record. Sounds great at the right speed and £10 new and sealed from a record fair. Nice high quality DL also.

Edited one year agoSounds amazing - crisp, deep, super detailed and pathetically overall. PJ vocals are just right there. And what a beautiful album itself!
Dead silent surface - guess I have a lucky copy. -
how does this sound at 45rpm despite having >15 min on both sides? does the higher fidelity shine through or is it hampered by lack of groove space?
-
My copy arrived with some visible damage on Track 1 of Side B that results in a some loud clicks the subside before the second verse of "Broken Harp". Otherwise, this sounds amazing at 45rpm. And to the reviewer who wondered if they were in the minority for naming this their favorite PJ album...perhaps you are, but then I am too. Just a haunting, beautiful, creepy, divine album.

Got 3 copies of this pressing before I found one that doesn´t crackle too much. I have bought 6 of these reissues and they all sound great. This one however, is a very quiet album and the crackling ruins the album. The third copy I got is acceptable, but still pretty annoying.

Sounds great, but my copy did have some noticeable clicks, mostly on side A (A2 and A4). Nothing major, but clearly there.
The mastering makes up for that, though, and possibly an ultrasonic cleaning will improve things a bit.
I'm not disappointed considering the retail price.

My copy is horrible: crackles everywhere, shitloads of surface noise, it's worse than some of my 1960's and 1970's used records ! I've been trying to clean it thoroughly, tried to wash it, brush it, threaten it… To no good for now.
This is weird given all the good comments below and also the good quality of the previous reissues (I got myself almost every one)
