This album will be reissued soon. Good to know since it was difficult to find.

The "Artist Formerly Known As Prince" released "The Truth" around the same time, and also with the massive "Chrystal Ball"...It is a "Bluesy" type album, with some of his most intriguing work up to this point....

Songs like the "Title Track", the Crown Jewel in "Don't Play Me" and "3rd Eye" are very fascinating....

There are also moments with the "NPG", like "Animal Kingdom", "Fascination" and "One Of Your Tears"....

I just recently bought this on Vinyl, but I hear that some of the copies did not measure up....That is a shame, because I feel that this music was tailor made for Vinyl, and it sounds really good to me....

With that being said, this was another album that "The Artist" just wanted not just to give, but explore......

This album is an exceptional opportunity to hear Prince in a close, acoustic yet majestically produced (of course !) formula with a perfect and very detailed sound. We are lucky that RSD reveal this as a beautiful vinyl and a true long-player version twenty five years after his first release as a bonus unidentified CD of the artist. Prince is at his best and on the guitar. But don't believe the blues argument to sell this one, as it is simply reducing. There are wonderful pop tunes too ("Circle of amour" "Dionne"...). Very nice pressing and mastering in a wonderful edition with a 4 page booklet and golden embossed sleeve.

So. I returned it today to the shop where I bought it. Money back but no record that I wanted so much. Bad luck. I hope it will come out in future as a regular release. Sad.

Great acoustic album from Prince. I've had it on CD for 25 years. Now a vinyl edition, really great, well presented, with a 4-page text sheet including a poster on the back side- very nice. A must have for everyone who loves Prince's music !!! Prince was a genius on the guitar, a pleasure, every single song on this album.. The sound is warm, clear and very detailed.

My first copy was full of non fill all on side one - you could hold it up to the light and see the pressing was a POS. other people I know have had perfect pressings, so it is possible for MPO to do decent pressings. I complained to Sony and they sent me a replacement. this one is quiet and sonically it sounds amazing.
Complain in writing to Sony and MPO. they really should dump MPO as the pressing plant and use Optimal like Warners did for the Originals, 1999 and SOTT deluxe pressings - which are perfect.

"Dirty", "Scratched" "Warped" "Surface marks" "Give it a good clean" : Hard . This sounds like a typical MPO pressing-I am amazed no-one has found their copy off-center. If you are not going to return them, everyone who has a duff copy (and I imagine that is the entire run) you should email MPO and tell them so, even if they don't answer. If you're just going to accept this kind of nonsense and pay £20+ for it why would they change? If you bought a CD which was brand new but looked like it had been sloshing about in the glove compartment of your car for 6 months and was riddled with marks, fingerprints and dirt wouldn't you find that a bit weird? Why on earth should you have to clean records which are brand new? Why does it look like it has been buried in dirt in the first place? Why are there fingerprints on it to begin with? This is not the way record manufacturing is supposed to be and they are ripping off every single person who is ing the music industry by paying for physical copies of things which are easily obtainable for free online. No quality control is going to be the death of vinyl so make your voices heard where you can. I would also tweet Legacy and ask them why the pressings are so poor. Email: [email protected]

My copy came with some pretty bad manufactured imperfections resulting in super loud pops on the last track of side 2. Mine was rather noisy. it was HORRENDOUSLY filthy and scuffed right out of the sleeve. A dip in the Spin Clean and it made for zero improvement. A regretful purchase of a good album.

I refrained from playing this for a few days after reading some horrendous reviews.
I feared mine would be warped beyond recognition or/and would be dirty.
Fortunately, it's fine. There is a very slight warp but it's barely noticeable unless you're really giving it a thorough inspection.
It plays perfectly. No hiss or crackles. I previously only owned a digital copy and I have to say that this vinyl edition sounds superb in comparison. Clear and crisp.
On this occasion, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones (which makes a change for me).
