A lot of pops and cracks here and there, and the sound quality overall is quite underwhelming. The clear vinyl looks nice, and the sleeves quality is proper though.

Edited 3 years agoNot sure if I need to comment on the pressing or the music itself. I have the 2009 pressing and it sounds good enough to my ears, mostly because the music and the poetry are strong enough to make up for poor technical rendering. This is Alain Bashung at its best, both in the composition, arrangements. Lyrics are fantastic. The cover artwork is also very nice.

Hi folks, tell me how an album may sound good if its sides has more than 19 or 20 minutes of music ? If music is not on two records, just buy a cd version and maybe you'll enjoy a good mastering ...

I agree with the criticisms about the sound of this LP : muffled, weak, no deepness... BUT it's the same with the original 1998 vinyl pressing (I owned it too) ! So there always have been a mastering problem with the vinyl release of this great album. The CD has a better sound, it happens sometimes...
Concerning the pressing quality itself, my copy is good, I must say. -
Surface noise from hell, some random jumps, don't know if it sound good as the pressing litteraly killed it...

This album is a gem, but... this LP edition is the worst the music industry can produce for a remaster : weak sound, lots of crackle for a brand new LP, no sound deepness... It's amazing that a sound engineer can let this master go to mass production. The CD sounds so much better.
