Sounds great just watch out for your pre gain towards the end of side B. Make sure not to push it or you will get distortion ;)

Wonderful work. Mine sounds really good: the stage is very wide! The winds and the drums sound spectacular on all the tracks, maybe the piano and bass are a little closed. flat and clean record. defined and clear. I don't have other copies to make a comparison, but I'm more than satisfied.

I got a beautiful, flat, centered and quiet record, the music is great, and the audio quality is outstanding.

Ok so I bought this release and right away noticed issues with A1, especially flutter. I then started reading and apparently the tape was damaged during a transfer. Today I got a clean OG mono and can confirm that there are no issues whatsoever in the OG. My advice would be to try to find an early reissue of this title.

WOW. What an utter disaster. It's been a long time I've seen such a crappy pressing.
So.
I've ordered a copy for me & a buddy, hoping that the new batch would be better (after all, this thing is +3 years old).
- As usual with BNC, the cover is meh (you know the drill). Inner is the worst as usual with record these days.
- At first sight, both records looked OK (almost flat, centered & clean) but once i looked at one of the coppy i've noticed an awful scratch at the end of A3. The type of thing that should have sent this record to the bin.
- Obviously, i got cyclical clicks for more than a minute. Also, like everyone else, B3 was pretty bad with all sort of issues (clicks, noise-floor pretty high, saturation...).
As for the second copy: it looked better but... on A2 & A3 i got light to medium cyclical clicks all over both tracks. And, once again, B3 had its problem (even though it didn't seem as bad as the first copy).
The worst in this is the rest of the tracks were defects-free & the mastering sounded pretty good...
All suddenly, it feels like Czech Republic in 2008...
Bravo Optimal, you're getting worse every year! -
Picked this up 12/2022. Wow.....flat, quiet, dynamic and such a beautiful classic! One of my favorite BN "Classic" records.

Took a gamble after mixed reviews. Ordered from Juno (UK). Pressing spot on. No issues. Well worth £15

Even though it is very good, probably my worst Blue Note Classics series. My copy is also badly dished (although doesn't seem to affect playback too much), there is definitely some distortion present on Lonely Woman, and there is some sort of defect that causes popping for 15 seconds or so on Que Pasa. Overall the sound quality is very good albeit with a few minor issues. A fun listen, although the pressing is disappointing.

As others have mentioned, B3 Lonely Woman plays a little harsher but I suspect this isn't an issue for folks with better gear. There's only a tiny amount of distortion where the pianos peak for me, but it's quite negligible imo. The rest of the tracks play really nicely - they're smooth, airy, and full of life.
Blue Note Classic Series has been a bit hit or miss for me, but this I'm happy my copy is a hit.
My copy is has a slight lip warp, most noticeable on A side and it's a little off center - but not enough to hear any wow-and-flutter for me.
Overall, I'm quite happy with this.
