So, is "Non Stop" a new song then? Where am I getting this feeling it was just a way to get "La Forme" and "Régéneration" twisted up and with elements of "Boing Boom Tschak" / "Musique Non Stop" / "Music Non Stop" (91) motif all over and over again? Oh well...

The outside remixers, with the exception of long-time collaborator on the mix front, Francois K., don't sound very much like Kraftwerk.
Would have been nice to have more Kling Klang reworkings of other classics here, rather than 1,000 "remixes" of "Expo" IMO. -
Edited 3 years agoI love how all these dedicated Kraftwerk fans (like me) seem to find some fault with everything Kraftwerk has released since Computerwelt/Computerworld. And yet I’ve rarely seen more dedicated fans than Kraftwerk fans (like me). Even though we’ve found fault, we (including me) have purchased or otherwise acquire everything this “band” has every released since then (like me). This includes every remix that was officially released (like I did) and even many that weren’t officially released (like I did). We attend every live show we have been able to attend, sometimes at great expense and trouble (like I did). I’m old(er), so I was able to attend every live show in my geographic region since 1981. Including the 12345678 3-D multiple times with an audience of 400. We complain, as we show our love for Ralf Hütter and his “band” every chance we get, often contributing when we can (thank you Robert_0110!). Was I disappointed that this compilation included so few unreleased tracks? (yes, I was). Did I purchase both the vinyl and digital versions? (Of course I did). It’s nice to have all this material in one place, especially on vinyl. If I had to, I likely would have bought the unreleased opening track “Non Stop” for the price I paid for the entire 3 LP set. I’ve certainly paid more for a Kraftwerk recording. But I would have complained about the price, while I listened to at a healthy volume along with all the other decades of Kraftwerk in my collection!

Edited 3 years agoIn spite of the (typical) minimal tracklist notes, there's more to these reissues than immediately meets the eye, though how much exactly this matters is up to you:
Non Stop - new song (never physically released)
Home Computer 2021 - new spliced up edit (never released on 12'')
Radioactivity (William Orbit Hardcore Remix - Kling Klang Edit) - new shortened edit
Etape 2 - non-album mix with additional bassline (think the 3D version) and new mixing (never physically released)
Aero Dynamik (Kling Klang Dynamix) - new mix with additional percussion (never physically released)
La Forme (King Of The Mountains Mix By Hot Chip) - new shortened edit (never physically released)
A nice compilation - but it could have been greatly improved with a fourth LP of additional (and much rarer) mixes - I wish they had included
- Man Machine - Myspace edit (youtube it)
- Elektro Kardiogramm (radio edit) would have slotted in here perfectly
- Tour De (Francois K Edit)
- Telephone call 12'' remixes
- Computer Welt 12'' special mix
I see why they aren't here, because they wanted to go for something a bit more 90's/techno than pre-1991 kraftwerk with this, but it's still a nice release - and the lime green vinyl is gorgeous.

"On vinyl, "La Forme (King Of The Mountains Mix By Hot Chip)" is shortened by about 5 minutes"... that's almost half... Hot Chip should bring Kraftwerk to court for this!
Anyway, it's just a selection and mainly EXPO. There would have been thrilling alternatives, e.g. the Todd Terje remix of Home Computer or the Francois K. mix of Tour de . A good chance missed... -
There are two physical vinyl editions of this compilation - one is pressed on lime green translucent vinyl and is only available from the Kling Klang store. The other is pressed on black vinyl.

I had pre-ordered the 2022 2xCD and it arrived today (24/3) but I couldn't find the release here on Discogs, then I discovered official release date is the 25th (tomorrow).
Discovered that the track list differ some, but not much:
"Expo 2000 (Kling Klang Mix 2000)" is not on this, neither are "Expo 2000 (UR Unfiltrated Mix)"
But the first disc ends with a track called: "Home Computer (2021 Single Edit)", and disc two ends with a track named "Tour De (Etape 2).
Hope I don't mess up anything here, since "official release" is tomorrow...) -
A truly pointless and disappointing release.
The 2 CD collection is selling for £26.99in our local shop.
On eBay I can buy almost everything on this separately for less.
I’d have much rather seen them release on CD some of their older remixes rather than re-release all these easy to find examples. Let’s hear nice crisp copies of the alternative versions from some of their old vinyls that by this time we own but are now worn out from all the crackles and pops. Computer World or hard to find versions of the original Tour De come to mind. Let’s have some foreign language versions too, the Italian version of pocket calculator, which as far as I know was only ever done for TV, the Spanish versions from Electric Cafe, these things have never made an appearance on CD. Give us clean copies of the things that are hard to find rather than stick the easy to find mixes onto a couple of discs. Let’s face it they didn’t agonise over this release did they. Give us the telephone call seven inch, let’s have all the seven inch edits. This could’ve been so good. Instead it’s just a churned out money maker. Then to edit parts of a track out just to fit on the disc is sickening. It’s the first kraftwerk release that I’ve ever left on the shelf.
Boring. -
