Van Halen - 1984
————————————
Van Halen was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California in 1973. Credited with "restoring hard rock to the forefront of the music scene", Van Halen was known for its energetic live shows and for the virtuosic talent of its lead guitarist, Eddie Van Halen. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
————————————
1984 is the sixth studio album by American rock band Van Halen, released on January 9, 1984. It was the last Van Halen studio album until A Different Kind of Truth (2012) to feature lead singer David Lee Roth, who left the band in 1985 following creative differences. This is the final full-length album to feature all four original (Van Halen brothers, Roth, and Michael Anthony), although they reunited briefly in 2000 to start work on what would much later become 2012's A Different Kind of Truth. Roth returned in 2007, but Eddie's son Wolfgang replaced Anthony in 2006. 1984 and Van Halen's debut are Van Halen's bestselling albums, each having sold more than 10 million copies.

Van Halen's 1984 is an amazing album for many reasons. But the reason I love it is because of the story that it tells as you listen to it, this album has arguably one of if not the best preludes to an album that I have seen yet. The track '1984' encapsulates the experimental synth rock style that Van Halen was aiming for in this Album and makes the listener fully aware of what is about to come. With hits like 'Panama' and 'Jump' this album is a must for anyone visiting their local record store or looking online. This album also includes hidden gems such as 'Drop Dead Legs which has to be one of my favourite Van Halen songs of all time in a tie with Panama. RIP Eddie.

Album Score: 8.5/10 -
This 180 gram pressing does not suffer the drop outs in "Panama" ( most notably on the line "model citizen") that have marked other recent copies. Cut from the original analog master tapes.
