What an incredible musical package. I love the entire setup. The box set was worth the money. My pressing for each album sounds absolutely great. Linkin Park are one of my favorite groups and Hybrid Theory is a nu-metal classic! While I'm not a huge remix guy, I do enjoy some of the remixes found on the other albums, not to mention some of the bonus tracks. I am stoked to have this in my collection. If you are a Linkin Park fan, you should too!

This is almost worth it just for the b side rarities record.
Awesome pressings of everything, such a nice package to celebrate 20 years -
Edited 4 years agoI'm going to break this down in sections. Its a pretty big box (thought not the biggest for this release) and everything deserves a bit of attention.
PRESENTATION:
This box looks pretty slick and as a fan of minimalism, I very much enjoy it. That being said, I use the term box loosely. Its more of a sleeve than anything. Its not a very sturdy sleeve either, and I somewhat wish more effort was put into this. An actual box would have gone a very long way here and it could of also allowed for some embossing which would have looked really nice with the gold on black. That being said... it looks very good for what it is. Be warned, it is a fingerprint magnet. The records themselves retained their regular album art so if you're a fan of those, they are here!
HYBRID THEORY:
Save for a few short age between sons, this album is dead quiet. I really enjoy Warner Music pressings and this one it no different. The music sounds great and there is quite a bit of clarity throughout. I did hear parts much more evidently that I have on CD or digital stream so I'm incredibly happy with how this play. That being said, there are some songs that sound more open than others so there is a bit of a lack in consistency there... that may be due to mastering though.
REANIMATION:
Reanimation was an album that I did not appreciate as a kid growing up and I feel like it may be a similar case for others. I loved Linkin Park, but other hip hop and electronic music just didn't jive with me. As I grew older my tastes expanded and I start exploring genres a lot more. Eventually hip hop became a big genre in my life and now as an adult I can listen to Reanimation with new ears... and thank GOD for that, because it sounds AMAZING on this pressing, like my goodness. The bass in these remixed are punchy. My subwoofer was working overtime and my god I appreciate it. This record is the big stand out of this package imo.
B-Sides:
Seems a little tacked on in my opinion... so I will give it the same tacked on review lol. Its sounds good, but did we need two different live versions of Points of Authority and Papercut? The album art for the B-Sides it actually very nice and my favourite of all three albums. Can't say the same for whats on the inside though. The mediocre sound quality and lack of diversity just left me wanting more.
In light of the B-Sides review, I'm still giving this set a 5-start review because Hybrid Theory and Reanimation more than make up for the third albums shortcomings. -
was this actually mastered by Bernie Grundman? I was scrolling through his technical credits and this was on there. This would be an immediate purchase if this is true

I think that this box is pretty decent for its price. I bought this cause it was the only copy I had come across of Hybrid Theory on LP and because I wanted to be part of the celebration. The music hands down is great on all 4 records, no complaints there. However, the quality of the box is not the best. Most notably the inner sleeves, which are awful.

Mine rocks! No noise or pops or clicks super clean. The mix is for sure hot on my unit had to turn down compared to other vinyls not complaining as I like it that way for this album
-
Edited 4 years agoWhat about pressing quality? Is it clean? Pops, clicks, other noise?
UPD: Got mine. Listened all three and yes, it's a very clean pressing. No noise at all.
