Great pressing. Packaging also is good but would have been better in a gatefold. Clean, crisp, flat records. Highly recommended.

Ordered this when i saw it was available in the Amazon 3 for 2 deal. CB in the deadwax a welcome indication Chris Bellman cut the lacquer for these at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Not sure the original source - probably high res digital, but it sounds better than expected so far.

Has anyone A/B this against the original vinyl pressing? Would love to hear which sounds better, or if there is any difference.

First spin is bringing a smile to my face...agree this is a very powerful LP. Was fortunate to see him in Los Angeles during The Rising Tour - Very much a wall-of-sound production, and the separation is superior to my CD, so the remastering worked the vinyl medium well. These appear to be selling FAST - I picked up the last one at the 4th record store I visited to get it. The others were already sold out, even the voluminous Amoeba in Hollywood, with over a hundred Boss vinyls in the racks, was out of Rising.

The wait is over. Sounds incredible, feels so weird to have a copy. I had a original awhile back sadly had to sell it. The lack of gatefold kind of bugs me, but I think the original had similar packaging? Powerful listen, hadn't listened all the way through in awhile, glorious glorious sound on this pressing. Don't hesitate. Curious how it sounds to the original press now.

Anyone getting any sibilance distortion on their pressing? My City of Ruins has quite a bit in the opening verse and first chorus.

Edited 5 years agoWhat a great pressing. Both disks are flat and arrived clean. Both disks are in cardboard sleeves with is common and those were promptly replaced with mofi sleeves. Song lyrics were written on the disk sleeves but not much else of interest is on them. The recording is pure and sounds excellent. I've listened to side D at least 4 times (since getting this yesterday) and it just sounds fantastic. Really good job on this re-release.
