This album is unbelievable. Might be one of the finest I've ever heard, it's that good. The music moves you but the recording is what makes it special.

Edited 4 years agoPossibly my favorite Sheffield Lab direct-to-disc recording! Hard to choose between this, and King James Version. Though I will say this doesn't have as wide a sound stage as KJV. Being that this was multi mic in a studio. Really love the track "You 're Gonna Need Me". But I would say "Squib Cakes" is the real stand out here! Incredibly well recorded, many layers of detail with all the different instruments. As with everything Sheffield Lab, horns sound as real as you are going to get from any recording, period.
