If you're a PMG fan, you are well aware of the soundtrack and this album, which is ittedly hard to find on vinyl. The compositions are as well written as those from any Metheny album of this era: Pat's guitar synth a la "Are You Going With Me?", Lyle's synth pads and tinkling piano fills, Wertico's ultra steady grooves, and Pedro Aznar's soaring vocals. It's the magic formula that launched this band. Now, add David Bowie to that formula for one track, and the bar has been duly raised.

This recording sounds excellent. All of the instruments including the orchestral/choral work, is beautifully balanced and crystal clear. The low frequency instruments, whether acoustic bass, synth bass, or bowed double bass, is enormous. Enjoy this with your subwoofer to rumble the room slightly.

If you like to relax with some beautiful background music in the vein of "As Falls Wichita...", this release is a more cinematic version of that.

        4 stars. Recommended.
