Another gold nugget from the Black Ark, Max Romeo's best album and one of Lee Perry's finest productions. This one cuts deep and hits hard, with a toughness to the rhythm section, a cleanliness to the production, and a lack of the esoteric embellishments and sound effects that characterize much of Perry's work from the time. This US Mango pressing slams, it's got a really nice kick to the low end, very crisp and clean high end, and a thick, dense midrange. My copy plays very quiet and clean, with virtually no surface noise.
