Similar to Belgium New Beat of 88 / 89. If it was released then it probably would've been well received. No wonder it flopped in 91. The sound has moved on so much by then. Maybe it was something RCA found lying about and decided to try and cash in.

I was excited to find an unknown to me rave white label. But while it was not much worse than many other records from the period (including an ill-advised replaying of the intro "Thus Spake Zarathustra" on a synth) it was hard to include in a set because despite the name "Energenic" it's very slow. Even at +8 it can barely keep up with many '91 techno records. The drums were pretty weak too, it appears that a sampler was only used for the titular sample.

Later I found here that it was on a major label. I guess somehow among the N-Joi releases and a few other techno records RCA put out someone managed to squeeze this in. As discogs shows the producers later made some pop-oriented house so I guess this was a cash-in effort on the rave sound that was then blowing up but it remains as obscure as some of the genuine underground articles.

The three mixes are pretty much indistinguishable.
