Edited 5 years agoUgh, this one...
It's a relatively pleasing song the internet force-fed to me; one too many times. It's gotten to the point where I can't even hear the song on the radio without letting out a large groan. I vividly listening to this song a while back, when I was doing some schoolwork, and I felt good because it made me feel unique... And then the memes began. And got more and more prominent as time went on. Eventually, as soon as "Weird Al" Yankovic, I'd had it. The meme had gone too far.
I-I don't even know how the meme started. The only answer from people I seem to get is "It's a really good song!" So? "The Cars is an awesome song, but you don't see tasteless memes popping up left and right of the song. Therefore, it's not a proper explanation.
This meme of a song needs to die. It's time to leave this meme in the past, and move on to better things. I'm not bashin' Toto or the song in general, I actually like the song; I'm just saying that this song has been beaten to the ground like a dead horse.
I'm BeatlELO10538, and I'm still waiting for Greatest Hits to come out on vinyl. -
