Edited 5 years agoIt almost feels like a crime buying this vinyl so cheap. This OG mono release sounds way better than 90% of any records available now and back then, including Blue Notes. Beautiful latin jazz and unique recording if you want to dig the backstory. If it wasnt for this particular record there would be no latin jazz at all in US. Its not only a record, its a living musical painting, work of art with historical value.

Very pretty and chill. Getz, Byrd, and Gilberto Gil pioneered the use of Latin rhythms in American jazz, and this is rightly one of the most famous albums of that movement. Particular standouts: "Samba Triste", "Samba Dees Days", and "Desafinado".
