Ian Anderson explained that the reverse concept is dealing with playing music in front of an audience from the performers perspective vs watching a concert from an audience perspective. These are 2 totally different experiences. As the lyrics from MITG shows, the performers are watching the audience while the audience watch the performers,So when you flip the record cover, you experience both perspectives.
    Hope it answers well.
