Funeral Mist is a phenomenon in the world of Black Metal, an expressive artistic unit on the world battlefield. The project gained respect from the involved public in the last century by releasing the uncompromising "Devilry". But it took a long five years to reveal the creative idea, and the damned world was granted "Salvation".
"Salvation" is undoubtedly an experimental work. Traditional Black Metal is completely deconstructed and recreated in an even sick, disgusting and grotesque form. The musical perversion is completed by church chorals and cinematic fragments, but these elements are used appropriately and help to create a holistic counter of the work. At the same time, the instrumental part consists of an over-attacking rhythm section and a dirty guitar sound, complemented by the ecstatic vocals of Arioch, who both preaches a sermon and pours selected curses. This is a large and interesting record that demonstrates Arioch's extraordinary view as an author.
The reissue turned out to be successful in all respects. By the way, it's strange to see that almost 15 years have ed between the first vinyl edition and the subsequent one, although NED was been a main label. My copy sounds perfect. Mastering does not raise any questions, despite the specifics of the recording, everything is very balanced on vinyl. The gatefold is designed quite ascetically, a huge poster serves as a pleasant thematic addition and somewhat resembles a church stained glass window.
High-quality edition of the cult album. -
Edited 8 years agohaha these re-presses look so barebones. tiny lyrics on the gatefold and none of the artworks. poor people and non-diehard fans can finally get a copy of salvation on vinyl now.
