AC/DC – Ballbreaker

The sound quality is excellent. Note that the digipack edition features the same mastering as the original 1995 CD. The sound is warm and organic. Very good mastering job

Got my copy from Spain at a higher price, but was worth it. Tape sounding dynamic and nice; DOLBY B NR and HX PRO doing their best. Cassette shell is also made by SR, but slightly different. NOT made by Warner Music Manufacturing Europe, however. Too bad, that SR have omitted their really nice tape guide found on older pre-recorded SR cassettes... :(

In my experience, MPO is mostly solid and this record is a good example of when MPO is quality. Nice and flat, quiet, and no distortion. No complaints.

Mastering - 4.5/5
Overall, it sounds like what you'd expect from a Ryan K Smith vinyl cut - very high quality. There's a little bit of low end lacking, but that's generally what you get with AC/DC. Otherwise, sounds excellent - nice balance, good soundstage, and dynamic. This is a digital source cut for vinyl, so it doesn't sound as good as say, the original RL presses of Back in Black or For Those About To Rock - but with the right expectations, this sounds really good.

No complaints about this one, about as good as I can imagine this album will sound. While it's not a classic like some of AC/DC's other work, I've never heard an AC/DC album I don't like, so I'm happy with it.

At these prices, this one’s more for the diehard AC/DC collector. If you like AC/DC but are more in it for the music, and are put off by what this OG pressing sells for, then get the 2014 Sony/Columbia Legacy re-issue. It sounds terrific! Almost identical to this one and is still very affordable. Can’t comment on the 2020 reissue (I assume it uses the same metalwork - but someone else will need to confirm)

Great sound on this. Must be from the same digital masters as the original (which I also have) 1995 vinyl as both have the 20KHz cuttoff so why pay silly money for the original when you can pick this up for a fraction of the cost.

My copy has side B centre label on both sides unfortunately. Anyone else with this issue?

This album dont get the cred it deserves. Great album!

One of my favorite Brian Johnson albums. Definetly 4 hits at least: tracks 1, 2, 7, 11. This edition has 12 pages booklet with all lyrics and "graphic novel" arts. CD print is a colour art of the "ballbreaker".
