At this stage in their career, Wire seem to be making music to a 'working template' that is producing underwhelming results. This album and Silver/Lead are a definite dip in their catalogue of interesting, alternative, arty rock. The last three tracks however buck this trend, providing a bit of vim, grit and propulsive energy. Don't expect too much and you might be pleased with this one. -

Really nice sounding LP. Really dynamic sounding, with a wide soundstage. Blows the CD out of the water. As for the music, Wire are still at a musical peak all these years later. -
