If the matrix are correct, then this is a DMM cut, I’m not a huge fan of DMM personally, I find DMM cuts to sound very shallow sounding, a lot of high end and not enough low end, and this album is no exception. I’m sure the Kevin Gray cut is an upgrade from an original for this reason alone.

My two favorite Billy Joel songs are on this album (Downeaster "Alexa" and "And So it Goes") so I was really glad to snag a copy of this reissue. The red vinyl is fine, nothing special really, but the record SOUNDS incredible.

I was very skeptical of the quality of these Walmart exclusive represses. However, I was happy to buy a new copy from a Discogs reseller instead of giving the business directly to Walmart. Overall, I've found my copy to be of excellent quality. It is dead flat and mostly quiet. The overall pressing isn't mastered too loud; which leaves headroom for dynamics. Is this Analogue Productions UHQR quality? Absolutely not! However, it was well worth the $35 price tag to get a new, clean copy of an album that was typically hard to find as we were well into the CD era when it was released.

Edited 3 years agoWhat I consider my favorite album by him, which I already have on CD so, maybe pointless but I still wanted it on record anyway, even before these 50th anniversary re-releases, just none of the originals from 1989 showed. So thought about getting this and, finally caved the other day. Very nice, in of quality and all of the re-release. I can't really complain personally with how it sounds.
Inclusion of the "poster" image is nice, although while I see fine I swear the "red" record is more maroon or even purple tinge side but that might just be me, all I'm saying. This is the only one of the anniversary re-releases I have and don't intend on getting another but I'm glad the care was put in it seems for a good pressing. -
Not much more to say good about this pressing after what others have said. So, I’ll just say that I can recommend it!

As with all of these new 2022 Billy Joel reissues from Walmart, these pressings are fantastic and Storm Front is no exception! Dead quiet vinyl, flat, and beautiful brick/maroon color (not red like the hype sticker says, but it's better in my opinion). The dynamics on this release are great with punchy bass and drums. The synths, keyboards, and guitars all sound great too. Get 'em and crank 'em!

This sounds really darn good. Really nice brick red colored vinyl, flat and no surface noise. Totally worth the money.

I have been hunting the OG release of this record for years. Not many out and all that I’ve come across have been in pretty poor shape. So, I took a chance, and picked this up as a place filler and two I could find my OG copy. The soundstage is quiet, highs, mids and lows are balanced, a little muted on some tracks, but, overall a nice re-issue. My only pan is that my copy definitely was not red vinyl but more of a dark pink vinyl.

Nice press, definitely good memories as others have said. I think my dad bought the LP at Sam Goody and we played it over and over. Probably tried to memorize all of We Didn't start the fire lol.
Does sound good, wouldn't say I am blown away but its great for the price. Color is more maroon then red. Cool it got reissued. Definitely good memories and great to have in the collection.
