Yma Sumac's second album "Legend of the Sun Virgin" performed to approximate an Incan ritual.

1st US release: 1952 Capitol Records DDN-299 as 78 RPM Album Monophonic Box Set with yellow liner notes on back of the box set. Also released as: 7" Boxed Set (1952), 7" EP (1952) , 10" LP (1952), 12" LP (1955) with additional session tracks added. Numerous reissues have since been released.

I have got this T299 back sleeve, T-299 on labels, but blue label! and says nonbreakable underneath Side 1 and side 2 on labels and TI-299 under this!

These are excellent transfers of challenging but good recordings. The songs are strange and entrancing.

"Legend of The Sun Virgin" is thematic and fantastical and has other voices adding to Sumac's extensive range but is more operatic in delivery and less like an exotic soundtrack to the listener's imagination than her other albums.
