Nice sounding album, in my opinion it could probably sound better if handled right, but for what it is (and a live album at that) it's a solid listen.

How does this tracklist compare to the usual one? I'm curious what people think of it.

This pink New Rose CD is my favorite version of Smell of Female. I also have the 1990 and the 2001 (remastered) discs. Those two discs have three different tracks over the New Rose if you count Surfin' Dead, but the New Rose CD features an exclusive track 7 with Weekend on Mars (and it's awesome!). All three discs have a different mastering, the New Rose and the 1990 are similar but it looks like New Rose has slightly more dynamics, so it's interesting hearing them all! I think the 2001 remaster is the clearest and most detailed, it's not a whole lot different than the 1990 disc (same tracklist), but Call of the Wighat no longer has the Faster Pussycat intro at the end of its track (now matching the New Rose). Listening to the New Rose disc makes me feel like I'm playing the 6 track vinyl with only the extra 7th track, the other two versions seem a little bit long at 9 songs, and it always feels like Surfin' Dead sticks out like a sore thumb since it was a studio track. I enjoy that song more on the Return of the Living Dead soundtrack! -
