The originals from 1983 sound warmer, more dynamic and twice as loud. I sent it back

Saw her in concert in Köln in October 2024 and she did not disappoint. She rocked Lanxess Arena to a sellout crowd! Ordered this from her site and yes it’s autographed.

Congratulations to those responsible for this pressing. Absolute garbage, for the bin. Beautiful packaging, high quality tri-fold cover, but it's always a mystery to me how they manage to get such unbelievably bad sound quality from a record. Absolute amateurs have to be at work here. There is a world of difference between the original pressing and this one. The Music on Vinyl edition in red vinyl is also worlds better. For many people, the difference between the original pressing and the Music on vinyl is probably more in the taste of the sound. Both are great, but the original is the only edition that rocks, that is snotty, that goes off. This is a complete waste of money.

1) Could someone please tell me how long B2 is? On the new double album ("Remastered and selected works") the track is about a minute longer than the original from 1983 because one verse was doubled.
2) Is there a gap between B5 and B6? In the original, the two tracks run into each other. On the double album there is a break in between.

On the original album from 1983, there is no gap between B5 and B6. The two tracks "Noch einmal' and "Satellitenstadt" therefore merge into one another. This edition fades out and in. Do only dilettantes work at BMG, or did Nena not listen to the mix? Furthermore, the left channel of side 2 is covered with interference. Apart from that, the haptic presentation is completely convincing.

Maybe my ears aren't as finicky but I think this reissue sounds just fine. My vinyl is quiet and has no traveling noise at all. I think they backed the "loudness" down to normal levels. It is easy enough to punch it up with an amplifier if you feel the need. I like it just as it is myself. I wasn't expecting this level of packaging - it is phenomenal. I didn't consciously think about it all being all in German, but of course it is. Very happy with it overall.

Awful master. Sides B and C have a weird buzzing sound on the left channel. Yes everything is grounded as it should be and no, other LPs don’t have that. You can clearly hear this mastering or pressing error between tracks. The other sides (A and D) don’t have that.
As previously mentioned, the master in itself sounds dull and overall flat. Night and day compared to the original pressing.

Terrible remaster, sounds absolutely cold and dull. The extra stuff is worth a listen.

Pity they didn't add the 12 inch, and the English version of 99 luftballons

Excellent pressing of this classic record. Great production, good instrument separation. Sounds like this kind of music should sound. Highly recommended!
