During the 1990's, Euro Dance and commercial Techno music was hugely popular and regularly claiming the number one position in the pop charts around the world. One of the side effects of this success was some producers of this music needing a gimmick to stand out from the crowd. The problem was some gimmicks were more shameless than others. In the case of Herbie - Right Type Of Mood, the "gimmick" is aggressive Ragga lyrics, which actually sound quite good here. It's a different approach compared to the typical black dude busting mediocre raps and an attractive lady l̶i̶p̶ ̶s̶y̶n̶c̶i̶n̶g̶ singing the chorus. The music made by the Swedish producers is not bad either for pop Dance music: that really loud horn stab, classic catchy keyboards riffs especially in the last breakdown and a pumping beat. But in the end, Herbie's flow and cadence really makes this track. To the credit of the producers, they include a Jungle remix on this commercial project, which is not bad either. Speaking of which, the producers of Right Type Of Mood have made music for some of the biggest pop artists in the world, their credits are surprisingly extensive.

Right Type Of Mood did quite well across Europe but was very popular in Australia during 1995. It cracked the Top 10, got hammered on the radio, released on heaps of pop/dance compilations and was really popular in my school! I think one reason being Aussies weren't used to the Ragga vocals, it was different and it sounded cool. It could be argued that it was riding the popularity of faster Techno music such as Happy Hardcore in The Netherlands and Hard Trance from . In Australia it reached Gold status in sales, it was even released as a cassingle, cassingles? :) Right Type Of Mood by Herbie is nice high school music for me and provides good memories for a certain generation of Australians.

Can anybody give a more detailed description of the contents of the CD-Rom part? It won't play on Windows 10. :)
