Leonard Cohen – Songs Of Love And Hate

I have had two copies of this. Near the end of Sing Another Song Boys there is crackle/ripping sound that occurs on two roations. Both copies have it, and cleaning does not help. Anyone else noticed this?

Happy to discover when adding this to my collection that it has the little booklet w credits. Such an odd little thing, surprised it made it this far. Was introduced to this album and Cohen in general by a very odd, quiet and pale co-worker in TX that only ever ate packaged gas station chips and mostly listened to 70s krautrock. We worked at an upscale wine shop, and none of us knew shit about wine.

My copy sounds good. I compared this to the 2016 Legacy reissue and it sounds very similar to that. The Kevin Gray Sundazed reissue sounds the best. I also have an original UK copy that sounds great also. You really can’t go wrong with any clean copy of this record. But I’d seek out the Sundazed if I could only have one.

This is my favorite middle finger album actually Leonard Cohen album... The only song that sort of half fits is the live version of Sing Another One Boys ... It's on Isle Of Wight film and CD and LP in 2009 but yeah this is 1971 ... Even before I owned Isle Of Wight if he only another dark song to fit in it's place ... Actually there's a couple of dark songs on the 74 album ...

Oddly there is no mention here, but this release comes with a very nice 8 page booklet that includes the full lyrics to the album.

Very nice and flat pressing, no dust or particles from the factory. Sounds really good.

What an wonderful pressing - cannot imagine it ever sounding better. The Famous Blue Raincoat is breathtaking - the "windchimes" intro with the lovely female backing vocal - and the gentle guitar strings. This whole album/pressing is superb - RKS did an amazing job - so happy to have this in my collection - just gorgeous. Flawless pressing - the bass is just perfect and the guitars come across strong and Lenards voice is right there in the middle - and this is still around for a great price. Bargain.

Mine sounds great. Quiet which is exactly what you need when listening to this album.
