Neil Young – Harvest Moon

Very nice and balanced sounding pressing altough this is a long record.

Bought a copy recently d as an Unofficial release listed elsewhere on Discogs. Upon checking matrices I found that it is this release. Great find for £25 and in nice condition. Sounds good to me despite length of each side.

My copy sounds fantastic.

That classic Neil Young sound.

Just found out yesterday the vinyl version I have of this album is a counterfeit. Which by the way wasn't bad at all. But I thought I needed this one. So ordered it right away. It just arrived and after playing it I have to say all the positive comments are quite right. Great sounding. Makes the beautiful music more beautiful still.

I disagree with all the issues people are having. My discs are flat. Zero noise. Dynamic. No distortion at all. It did need a mild wet bath upon opening. It sounds amazing. The opening track is exctasy.

Sound wise, it seems well mastered, but my first Lp was off centred, which is quite annoying. Neil through a chorus pedal is not my thing, I guess

Maybe I was unlucky but the copy I got is unlistenable. It’s actually the worst vinyl I’ve ever purchased. I was so happy to get it and then so sad when I played it.

Sound quality is okay. To me it sounds better than the cd. Swapped the inner paper sleeves immediately. Can cause static loading. Very happy with this reissue.

Sonically a complete upgrade over the original CD. If you have the opportunity, buy this version. A beautifully dynamic recording with lots of details I didn't even know about from the original CD.

Does anyone know why this album was reissued in 2024 outside the ORS-series?
