A few light consecutive clicks towards the end of Ponyo (B3) and a loud pop on Spirited Away (D1) on my copy. Unfortunate surface noise, but tolerable for me. Great music and nice pressing. The records look great in Sky Blue :)

Edited 3 months agoGreat pressing. The only noticeable surface noise on my copy was 4 loud consecutive pops during The Wind Rises (B2). I wet cleaned and vacuumed this side and the noise reduced which was good news. The rest of the music sounds really nice.
Worth picking this up at what I consider a bargain price just now. -
Japanese version is usually better. Is this really a bad pressing even the Japanese one? I am going to Japan in March and wants to see if I can find this LP. Currently priced at $30 in Japan. I have the black US version. My copy is slightly noisy. I would love to get Japanese version if they are better than the US one. Can anyone else give their opinion?

I love listening to this album. I have most of the soundtracks as well, but the symphonic version brings different feelings than the original soundtrack. And I love that it’s conducted by Joe Hisaishi. I got the LP directly from his website. There is a video of him conducting the orchestra for Mother’s Broom from Kiki’s Delivery Service. And that video convinced me to purchase this record. The record sounds pretty good. You can hear very faint clicks and pops sometimes, but not too loud that it distract you from the pleasure of listening to the music. But maybe a good and thorough cleaning will get rid off the clicks and pops. Unfortunately I don’t have the equipment to do that. I also found it strange that the LP doesn’t list the songs from each movie individually like the CD version. I purposely choose the black version and not the picture version after reading all the review about the picture ones even though that version looks so beautiful. But I have to say, I love the cover of the album. It’s so Ghibli. It looks so simple and yet so beautiful. -

The reviews seem all over the place. My picture disc version is great, but then I also don't have a high-end player to play it on. So maybe that helps? I absolutely love Joe Hisaishi's music and would keep it even if it wasn't perfect.

One of my favourite albums ever. An absolutely stunning collection of music by one of my favourite composers. Even though I own a few Joe Hisaishi compilation albums, it was still well worth picking this one up as there are fantastic new concert suites with new arrangements and orchestrations. I didn't seem to have such luck with my copy, I noticed quite a lot of distortion on the inner tracks of each side. Still a 5-star album though. -
Crystal clear sound and beautiful crystal clear discs. Great collection, only odd part is Ponyo was sung in english while the rest is in Japanese.

Has some more than average surface noise. I picked clear thinking it would sound better than other colored pressings. It could just be mine though and overall it’s still good
